Built
to spec

We put AI to work, automate the workflows that eat your week, and build the software you can't buy off the shelf.

01

AI
Implementation

You know AI should be doing something in your business. We work out what, prove it on a narrow slice, and put it into production with the guardrails and evaluation needed to keep it honest.

02

Workflow
Automation

The repetitive work that grinds you down. Sometimes that needs AI. Often it just needs a well-built integration between four systems you already pay for. We'll tell you which.

03

Custom
Software

For when the off-the-shelf tool doesn't fit, and bending the business around it costs more than building the right thing. Designed, built, and handed off clean.

How we work

  1. 1 · Talk

It starts with a free conversation. No pitch. Tell us what's slow, what's manual, what's missing. If it isn't worth fixing, we'll say so.

  2. 2 · Discover

If it is, we run a paid, fixed-scope discovery and hand you the plan: what to build, how, and what it'll cost. You paid for it, so you own it.

  3. 3 · Build

From there it's your call. Take the plan in-house and build it yourself, or we carry on and build it for you, proving it on your real data as we go.

  4. 4 · Run

Either path lands the same place: a system running in production, on your infrastructure or ours, documented and handed over.

Who you're hiring

We run it too

Team Dub Labs is one person by design. The person you talk to on the first call is the person who scopes the work, writes the code, and answers for it in production. No handoffs, no account managers.

Behind that is close to thirty years in the industry: Windows, Apple, Linux and Unix on the systems side, Azure and AWS in the cloud. The AI is new; running production infrastructure isn't.

Our own AI setup is a mix of custom-built and cloud, and it helps with every part of running this business: email, finance, software development, marketing, even keeping our knowledge base up to date. It's in production every day, not a demo. If we recommend something, chances are we're already running it, and if you'd rather not run infrastructure yourself, yours can live on ours.

The same practice carries into the training room and the writing on this site: plain language, live systems, and receipts. Everything we teach or write about, we run ourselves.

What people say

Running a mid-sized team in the industry I've sat through enough vendor AI pitches to be cynical about it. This wasn't one of those. Wes doesn't oversell. I came in expecting to be told AI was the answer and instead got a straight breakdown of which part actually benefit from AI and which part just needed two systems talking to each other. Getting told what not to build is worth more than most engagements.

So this is also your fault. Thanks for helping me learn.

Common questions

Is the first conversation really free?

Yes. It's a working conversation, not a sales pitch: you tell us what's slow, manual, or missing, and we tell you honestly whether it's worth fixing. If it isn't, we'll say so, and you've lost nothing but half an hour. Book a call directly, or email us below.

What does discovery cost?

Discovery starts at $2,500, as a fixed price quoted up front before you commit: no hourly meter, no surprises. It ends with a plan you own outright: what to build, how, and what it will cost.

Can we take the plan and build it ourselves?

Absolutely: that's the point of paying for discovery. The plan is yours, so handing it to your own team or another shop is a perfectly good outcome. No hard feelings, no strings.

How long does a project take?

Discovery typically runs two to three weeks. Builds vary too much to promise a number here and mean it, so your discovery plan includes a timeline for your specific project. Small automations can land in weeks; custom software takes longer.

Who owns what we pay for?

You do. The plan, the documentation, and everything built specifically for you is yours on final payment: no licence fees back to us, no lock-in. Where our own pre-built tooling is part of your system, you get a permanent licence to it, so you can run it, change it, or hand it to another developer without ever needing us again.

What happens after handoff?

Every build lands documented and handed over, with a 30-day warranty: anything we got wrong, we fix free. Beyond that, ongoing support is available as a simple monthly arrangement if you want a safety net, and systems running on our infrastructure include monitoring and upkeep as part of the deal.

If you're one person, why do you keep saying "we"?

Because it's honestly not a solo act. Team Dub Labs is Wes plus a roster of AI agents that handle research, drafting, testing, and the operational grind, with Wes directing the work, reviewing everything, and personally accountable for anything that ships. It's the same approach we recommend to clients: one person running well-built AI covers ground that used to take a team.

You're one person. What if you're unavailable?

That risk is designed for, not ignored. Everything is documented from day one so another developer could take over, we build on standard, boring technology rather than anything exotic, and nothing we ship needs us around to keep running.

Is our data safe with AI?

Private by default. Your business data never goes into free consumer AI tools. When cloud AI is part of your build, we use commercial services with contractual no-training terms, and your plan names exactly what touches your data and where. And if nothing can leave your building, we build fully self-hosted AI: we run that stack ourselves, every day.

What happens to my data after an on-site AI job?

Nothing leaves your building. The job runs on our machine, at your site, with no cloud and no internet in the loop. By default we securely erase our drives before we leave, and if your compliance needs more, that's fine too: written confirmation, or keep the storage drive and destroy it yourself. More about On-Site AI.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. If your project needs a confidentiality agreement before we talk specifics, send yours over, or we can provide one.

Do you work outside Regina?

Yes. Anything in person, including training, we do anywhere in Saskatchewan. Project work mostly happens remotely anyway, so for AI, automation, and software builds we work with businesses across Canada.
